No. I wish.. Don't get this species as they don't survive in brackish water...

Noted, nice information but shame about the snails. Worth a shot though.

Neritina Neglecta species (formerly known as Theodoxus Neglectus) is the species you want in a Opae Ula tank, fyi

I had brought back a bunch of the pipipi snails back from Hawaii some years ago. They did terrible in my salt tank. Kept trying to crawl out of it. Always above the water line.

Exactly! What island did you get yours from? Mines was from Maui. Neritina Neglecta species I have is from the Big Island do really well in the Opae Ula tank.

I picked mine up on Oahu. These were all over the rocks in the tide pools. Should have figured it out considering I think all were above the water line.

I buddy of mine is thinking to create a bigger tank(15g) of opae. He lives on Oahu and had CRS for awhile but the fluctuations in temperature caused may to die. No chiller. His brother had a 10g full of opae till there was a fire in the store of his business and lost everything. Perfect shrimp for him. My tank in the garage has seen temps as high as 90 without issues.

The Opae Ula died in the fire? yeah no issues with really warm weather, only issues is when the water is too cold.

Yes the small store that he worked out of caught fire from the restaurant next door. Completely destroyed. It was a customer of theirs that gave them the shrimp. Tank did very well.
How cold is too cold? No room here in the house so my shrimp are housed in the garage. Temps seem to hover around 71.
