I have topped up the water and fed around and two berried Opae ula have released their larvae and i now have about 25 in the water! There looks to be another couple getting ready to release some more soon which will be in the next week or so i reckon. This weekend is going to be another transport larvae to the larvae tank weekend i think lol (i hate doing that job)

The photos are not great bit you can see a few of them.

I moved over what i thought was all the larvae from the breeder tank to the larvae tank and after cleaning up and putting lids and lights back etc i noticed 2 more larvae come out of hiding that i had missed :pff: LOL i will wait a few days then try and move them over too. I noticed that there are 2 females that are carrying hatched larvae too which should get released fairly soon.

Moved over the last 2 larvae this afternoon, One of the other berried moms will release some larvae this week too! Its sodding typical that the tank is now perfect and i have constant breeding and at least 7+ berried shrimp at any point in time but i have to break my tanks down when i move home in the next 4 weeks or so :upset:  :sad2:

It will take them a good while to settle in again after the move as a guess, this will slow down things dramatically.

Here are a few shots of the larger baby shrimps in the larvae tank, they seem to be doing well and growing. I fed some Spirulina in their tank too as there isn't much algae in it (i removed the Nerite snail as he was TOO efficient at removing algae). Compared to the amount of larvae i have put in this tank i don't see the same quantity in fully fledged shrimps unless they are hiding but i cant be sure we get 100% survival rate from larvae to shrimp. If i didn't have any substrate and ornaments then i could probably count them easier but that's not providing a comfy home for them.

Came home tonight from work and did my evening tank check like i do every evening and found 5 new larvae floating in the breeder tank, the mom has about 7 or 8 left to release too by the looks of things.

The new tank lid finally came in! Its 5mm Perspex cut to shape so it covers all the top of the tank except one corner which has a small cut out for the heater cables. The hole is too small for snails to climb out of but just the right size for cables and I'm hoping that this will reduce the tank evaporation.

Another one of the berried females has started releasing her larvae now too, she has lots to let go of.

Nice lid. That should help a lot with evaporation and efficiency with heater. Does it seem brighter with this lid or about the same? Heard light transmission is better.
