Boiling Rocks?

Should newly acquired rocks such as Volcanic and Ocean be boiled first to rid. them of any objectionable parasites or substances or will soaking do ? I would be afraid that the metal of the pot would leech into the rocks themselves. Thank you.

Good points from @Haduvokone there! I wouldn't boil them i would just soak them in some RO/distilled/bottled water and get a scrubbing/nail brush on them if they have any stubborn dirt on them. I usually only boil wood but with Opae ula tanks you shouldn't have any of that as it reduces the waters PH.

Thank you both. I'm glad I asked first.

Your tanks nitrogen cycle will take care of any dirt that creates ammonia etc, scrub it and dump it into your tank
