Opae Ula also vary in colors. Granted when they're stressed they become less colorful. Depending on the quantity of opae will determine the amount of feeding. I also suggest feeding at the beginning to get the cycle going. Feed 1-2x a week for 8 weeks and see what's going on in the tank.

Hi Vorteil,

Thanks I put one Hikari shrimp cuisine (mainly composed of spirulina) in and scoop it out after one night of being left out as I noticed the shrimps are nocturnal and only come out at night. Or maybe my water Params are bad and they hide during the day.

But I digress, changing to the hikari feed because the spirulina powder is hard to scoop back up if the food goes uneaten (since the shrimps won’t come to the water surface I don’t even know if they’re eating it or it’s just spoiling causing ammonia spikes etc).

Have a good day

I wouldn't feed the Hikari wafers just based on the ingredients. This would be good for FW shrimp but even for those I still wouldn't feed them it. I would stick to a basic algae diet. Remember your tank has no filtration.

Powder. Don't use tablets. A little of this stuff goes a long way. For example if I were feeding say 50 opae I would add enough powder to equal 1/2 grain of salt.

Image it also comes in tablet form on amazon (see below) oops guess I’ll have to do a return and buy the powder version. Or I can eat it :D

:grin3: just  worried :upset:

I saw a very small white dandruff in the tank that jumped like a flea. WTF (vulgarities sorry)

There is nothing live/rock nor live-sand. Where could it come from?

Please tell me it was my imagination. Covid mental illness perhaps haha
