@tzg

I really surprised that the baby opae survive at temps at 30c let alone breed at those temps. All of my tanks shut down during the summer & I see none breeding at all. I like to keep my tanks around 22c/72 degrees.

It's also crazy how often I've heard about issues regarding heaters. I can imagine the snails hiding. That's like a sauna :smile:
I use a Eheim brand heater in my main tank. What brand do you guys use or recommend?

I use these: http://www.thegoldfishbowl.co.uk/shop/h ... ld-heater/

And

These but larger: http://www.tropco.co.uk/aqua-one-glass- ... -2155.html

I haven’t had any issues yet, I’m looking into getting something that will email me if the tank temperature gets too high or low. I want it to be basic and cheap... I’m not paying hundreds for a ready made product :)

Isn't the weather fine where you are? Do your water get too cold? I would think you're fine here in CA.

Yeah, indoors but not warm enough to maintain 70’s yet. Last yr’s weather was warmer this time of the year. Southern CA is always warmer.
