Checked my tank today and they were in a strange frenzy.

I also observed and recorded a behavior I've not seen before where a shrimp swims, then suddenly freezes and floats down.

Quick check shows no detectable ammonia. There was a just molted shell on a rock, so wondering if this might be something to do with that.

The moult you found belongs to a female and in this short window of time she can receive the sperm of a male shrimp, the frenzy is the males seeking that female! Keep an eye out for a berried female in the coming weeks.

Hmm ok that's what I thought. Was wondering why that particular shrimp in the video kept freezing and floating down though. Never seen any of them do that. You can see it clearly right before the end of the video.

My tank has so many juveniles, larvae, and presently 4 berried shrimps. If another female is berrying again... I'm starting to worry about the tank balance lol!
