The Opae ula shrimp Forum and online store

Hi I,m new to opae ula, I am wondering can i put the seaweed I got from seaside into my shrimp tank?

Hi there @HappyWyatt and welcome to our Opae ula forum! In short i would say no and i say this because most sea plants require full strength salt water and the water we keep Opae ula in is Brackish and generally half the strength salt wise compared to full on marine/sea salt water. The plant will start to die and produce Ammonia which may foul your water. A few keepers use Marimo balls and do have success with Macroalgaes.

Hi @odin , thanks for the advise. I have some marimo balls inside my opae ula tank and they looks well. Any type of macroalgaes you can recommend that can survive in brackish water?

I have chaetomorpha linum and So far it is still alive. I've been with it for 6 months

Is that a tube to the right? what is that for?
