Last night I noticed a dead shrimp on its side at the bottom of the tank. I was sad about it, of course, and decided to deal with it in the morning. When I woke up today I was surprised to see the dead shrimp gone and a molt in its place!
I hope this means the shrimp survived and was just taking a break during a difficult molt. An alternate explanation is the snails ate it overnight, and the molt was someone else's. It's been 7 years and nobody has died, so I'm betting on the happy explanation.
Anyway, give your dead shrimp a chance! They might recover!
