It seems common that first time pregnant Opae ula shrimp drop most eggs but the more they get berried they better at keeping them they get.

Just wanted to post a quick update. This tank is doing really well. I've had lots of eggs hatch since I last posted so now my population is steadily increasing :smile: . Here's a photo of it currently:

I would say there are about 25 adult individuals.

And for the larvae... on Monday I returned from a week away from home to see this!

Can't believe how many there are! Previous berried females had been producing no more than 4 larvae. There must be more than 40 larvae in the tank currently.

Is there any danger the colony might collapse after a while if these all turn in to adults and this happens again?

They will slow down breeding once they start running short on space, the shrimp don’t require lots of space so I wouldn’t worry just yet!
