Opae Ula require no aeration. Check out this tank. It's one of my 5 gallons.

Looks like you need help reducing that population so you can breed more.

I have seen no new deaths. I will test water again today. I see most of them in the morning, but right now there is less visible. Here is a picture showing how green the tank is growing. I like how it is looking. Feel so strange to be proud of algae growing all over my tank.

Latest update on my first tank. It has been easy to take care of. Do nothing but feed a little 3x a week.

And here is my snail's favorite egging spot.

It’s a small price to pay when the snails keeps the tank looking nice! Thanks for sharing your photos.

I added more shrimps last night. All shrimps look well. The tank was going through another brown algae stage with green film on top of water. When I added the new shrimps the water surface film got tossed around and green bits landed on the sand. This morning, the green bits seem to be gone. And of course, my snail loves her cube... :plain:

Today is feeding day. Spirulina powder placed at the top. My shrimps are comfortable in their tank now that they readily come up for these feedings.

They have also taken a liking to their piece of dead leaf that prefers to float than sink. The shrimps hang out upside down under it.

Also, there is this strange... green... that has been showing up in my tank for more than a month now. It started with one patch, now there are 4+ tiny patches growing. I keep expecting it to grow big like blackbeard algae or something, but it stays as a small patch. Any clue what it is? It is kinda cool and I hope it slowly grows all over the rock.

Click the picture and look for the black arrows pointing to the patch of green. Shrimp in picture for scale.
