Ramshorn in danger?

Hi guys!

A few weeks ago, I bought a marimo ball and a tiny ramshorn snail came along with it.

I've been keeping it in another small container with distilled water.
It grew and I don't know how, I have baby ramshorns around the tank now.

But why did my first ramshorn come out of the shell? It is worrying me.
Will it die?

How strange! im not to sure to be honest... I do know that you will need to add somthing to buffer the water or add some ocean rock or the snails wont be able to maintain their shells and they will start to break down due to the acidic water. You could drop some cuttle bone in their to help. The issue with most snails is they breed like rats

I'm sorry about your little snail. Hope all goes well.

Hi odin and Ann,
My ramshorn died
I'm going to try and raise her babies now. But they're so tiny and I'm afraid of doing a water change as I might suck some of them out.
Hope they'll all survive!

You could use an syringe like this one to remove and add water.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm sure that you will make a good surrogate mommy to the babies.
