I fed my shrimps a pellet shrimp food called Shrimp Dinner by Glas Garten. No, this is not their normal food. I just wanted to see what they thought of it. I will remove it in a few hours so it is not sitting in the tank all day and night causing water issues.

My shrimps don't know how to share.

They are sharing better now. Much less popcorn action happening.

I enjoy feeding shrimp pellet food because they all go crazy for it and it’s fun to watch but as you mentioned you may have to intervene and remove in eaten food. I have some spirulina pellets and they enjoyed them :)

Interesting how they seem to like the pellet! Totally excited.

Sometimes I wonder what kind of treat I could give them now and then other than spirulina which his not bad for the water.

It has been a while since my last update, so I figured I do a post. This tank is now over 6 months old. No berried shrimps yet, but that is okay. The colony is stable and doing well. The shrimps are pale-ish in the picture because I had to clean the front glass. I couldn't see in very well with the algae and nerite eating marks all over the place. During the winter, the sun's path allows late evening sun to hit the tank, thus more green than normal. There is my original leaf still floating at the top of the tank that the shrimps like to hang out under its shade.

Thanks for the update, it’s not uncommon to have to wait up to a year for shrimp to start breeding. If they don’t breed you can start looking into why if you wish. I have those lavarock blocks in my breeder tank and love them.

These guys are so awesome. I was so busy the last two months that I didn't bother topping off the water, cleaning the glass, feeding, or anything. The light is automated. And from all that neglect, no worries.

And you are right about the breeding. I am just happy to see how things go the first year before looking into why they aren't breeding. I love the lava cubes. My nerite (in the picture) is under the top block. That seems to be one of his fave places to hang out when he isn't cruising the glass.

Oh, and it seems I can't find the subwassertang anymore. LOL Too bad it didn't survive I guess.

I find the less I have anything to do with my tanks the better, make sure the water level doesn’t drop too much and the light keeps algae growing and they are fine. If they could get those at my home without me they wouldn’t need me I’m sure :p
